Korean artist duo Moon Kyungwon & Jeon Joonho’s solo exhibition “Weather Station” opens at Hyundai Motorstudio Beijing, challenging anthropocentric perspectives on a rapidly changing (dying) planet. The show’s immersive centrepiece, To Build a Fire (2022-24, image), for example, recounts Earth’s climate history from the viewpoint of a rock. As dramatic visualizations compress geological timescales into minutes, our silent witness is joined by Spot, a robot quadruped and CO2 monitor, in deep nonhuman contemplation.
