A playful exploration of vintage digital aesthetics and time-tested image reproduction techniques, Travess Smalley releases CRAWL (2024) on Feral File. The inventive NFT project contains two components: 512 navigable mazes that evoke early dungeon crawler videogame graphics and a series of woodblock prints. Imaginatively, the CRAWL NFTs can be “merged” into larger labyrinths, and purchasers of the woodblock series will get a print (on mulberry paper) mailed to them (image: NOTOPORE, 2024).
